Hummingbird Fish Buddy on a Tarpon?

I'm looking at getting a fish finder and am leaning toward a portable, since my son and I go out in the canoe and I sometimes go solo in my tarpon. Has anyone had luck mounting a portable fish finder on a tarpon? If so, how did you do it - I'm looking at the fish buddy by Hummingbird - thanks!

Mounting a portable fish finder is no big deal simply decide on a way to strap the fish finder to your kayak. The trick is the transducer, most portable units come with some type of transducer mounting bracket or suctioncup. In the past I have permanetly mounted multiple transducers in diffrent boats and used the same portable fish finder.

I was just exploring the forum and came across your request.  Here are a few pictures of how I solved the problem on my Tarpon 160
