Hi,

New to the forum. I am looking for a good fishing kayak for under $800.I was told to talk to Bill Schultz who's from my area (Milwaukee). Not sure how to contact him. Looking to fish local waters for northern, bass and walleye. Am a novice kayaker so need stability and ease.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I had never really used a kayak before myself but had spent plent of time in canoes and after trying out several ones I got a 14 foot WS Tarpon. It has been great. I have had it in small steams and ponds and also in big lakes and the Ohio River at Cincinnati and not had a singal problem. It is pretty fast, tracks strait and without a rudder it turns well for me. It is heavy out of the water but it the water I have had 18" bass start moving it. I have not had it in the ocean yet but I can't wait to actually hook into something of real size.

But with that said you need to try out as many yaks as you canto find what fits you weither its a WS yak or Ocean or whatever. Iwould also say try to stay away from the cheap ones at Dicks and Bass Pro. There is a reason they are cheap.

Good luck
