Hi all, I just picked up a Commander 120 and was wondering if the seat is supposed to snap onto the bar or rest above it. I worked on trying to snap the seat onto the bar with no success. I sat on the seat with the sides of the plastic just sitting on top of the bar. Any advise would be most helpfull. Thanks. Craig
Mine snaps on to one side or the other. Once I took it out it never seems to really snap on again. But then, i never use it any more as I only like the seat for rougher water and I don't take the commander there.
Have you ever ever thought about adding just a little bit more than simply your ideas? I mean, what you say ergobaby rucksack
is important and everything. But its acquired no punch, no pop! Possibly for those who added a pic or two, a video? You may have such a extra powerful blog if you let individuals SEE what youre speaking about http://www.ergocarrierschweiz.com/
instead of just reading it. Anyway, in my language, there are usually not a lot good source like this.
I have the same question on my new Commander 120. The manual says to snap it on the rods, but it doesn't. The bottom of the seat rest of the floor on the kayak.
I think (hope) Wilderness Systems would maybe give us some advise on this. There must be a lot of others wanting to know the same thing??
Check Youtube. I have seen at least one video on how to install the seat
Ok here is my opinion on the seat of the Commander first mine rested in the bar but mainly on the bottom of the yak. If the seat only rested on the bar that could break something lose from the weight. After several trips I notice the seat was scratching the floor after some figures I fixed the problem. I glued some ribbed outdoor carpet to the top of the humps and fixed the scratching problem but in doing so it also made the seat slide eaiser a plus for me and gave me a spot to rest lures so they would not slip around. I hope this helps as long as the seat does not slide sideways on top of the bar I would say you are OK.
I notice the seat was scratching aswell, I put a few small sample pads of Seadek I had laying around. I put them under the seat itself. I do not think Wilderness Systems monitor their site very often. I have sent them several private messages on other issues and have never gotten answered back. So I posted the same questions on their Facebook page and no replies again. Getting pretty sick of no answers....
I've had a couple of Commanders and still use the C140 for everything. The seat will "float" above the bar a little bit when there is no weight on it but be assured it is snapped in. When you actually sit in it the seat will rest flush with the bar.
