My tandem is really pulling to the left but I have to add I paddle from the back with my daughter in the front not paddling. Is this natural or do I need a rudder to help with this and where is the rudder controlled from. Thanks for your help.

First, inspect the bottom of the kayak. Does everything look symetrical? It should. Secondly, and most likley the problem, just check your seating position and the distribution of weight throughout the kayak. On top of that, check to see that you have equal length between your hands and the paddle blade on both sides.
Thanks for the reply. I went the other day and my daughter put together my paddles. The past two times I had been experimenting with offset paddles and must thave been paddling incorrectly. She did not offset them and the tracking was fine.
