Just got my Tarpon 12. Love it!
Seems a waste to have tha center hole and not be able to put anything in it but scupper plugs!
Is there a storage accessorie that fits inside?
Like to find some good bass fishing in NorCal.
See ya on the water!

You can take out the nylon bag, but that kind of sets you up for not being able to reach what you put in there. Put stuff in a milk crate behind you. You don't have to twist around 180 degrees to access it, just flop you legs over the side and sit on it like it's your couch. I fish from my Tarpons and Rides like that a lot.
I highly suggest trying tackle Binders as opposed to plastic boxes on the kayak. The binders will fit into smaller hatches much easier.

If you still prefer the boxes however, Falcon makes sweet boxes that really compact and organize tackle well. These are what I use in conjunction with binders on both the kayak and my boat.
Thanks CJ, I use binders with bungees in the open boat and boxs in a creat for the necessary tackle, but I'm always looking for a beter way.
I don't unerstand the reason for that particular hatch! I am thinking I will try bulkheads cut out of styrofoam with silicon just to see if that works. If it works, I'll make some out of a stronger material.
Thanks again CJ. Good fishing.
I use crates with my SOT. I still keep hard baits in hard cases but I keep my soft plastics in their original bags then organize them into 1 gallon zip lock freezer bags. It's a space saver...for example, full hard box uses the same amount of space as a half full hard box. I like the zip locks because they are cheap and you can see into them. Also, a half full zip lock uses half the space. I find that I can carry a lot more variety of baits in the same amount of available space in my crate using the zip locks. I can also stow the zip locks easily in any of the hatches of my RIDE
