Sorry for the super late report but weve been opening a new store and Ive been trying to get some fishing time in.

Anyways Back at the end of May myself and about 30 other kayak fishermen took our kayaks and all our camping gear and boarded the Marina Del Rey Flyer in route to Catalina Island for 4 days of fishing and Camping. In short the Trip was AWESOME. Fishing wasnt at its best however there was 1 White Sea Bass caught and a ton of halibut. nate and Drew from OEX Oceanside, Matt Moyer, and Myself spent more time relaxing and fishing Whitefish and Sheaphead than the more elusive species the others were chasing. I did very little spearfishing and wish I had done more.

Food was AMAZING with daily lunches of fresh fish and potatoes the 4 of us cooked up and then Dinners included everything from brauts to Fish Taco Bonanza with everybody one night and 30lbs of the Best Tri Tip ive ever had. Tri Tip was proved by Moyer who is the Executive Chef at La Jolla Country Club.

Ill let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Great pictures and looks like you had a great time. Did you use a ferry to get your kayaks and camping gear to the island? We did that in the Everglades and it sure made it nice to bring along a few extra items, mostly ice, as fresh water is not available in the Everglades.

Thanks for sharing, would love to do a trip like that someday.
Yep we used the Flier to get our kayaks and such across the channel. It took about an hour and a half-2 hours The Rangers at Little Harbor provided us with ice throughout the weekend along with firewood. Propane, and Charcoal.

Catapolooza has been going on for a few years although this was the first year I have been able to attend. I will NOT miss another one though :D
Awesome report, I'll be there next year!
