For all the Non-Anglers out there!

Wilderness Systems is world-renowned and acclaimed as the leading manufacturer of sea kayaks and touring kayaks around.

This group is to post trip reports, photos, ask questions, and talk about some of the sit-inside models for those who aren't into kayak fishing.

Obviously the sit on top is great for a variety of activities, but for a more technical paddling experience and to really get moving, you can't beat the sea kayak models. It's really a whole different experience. Just don't count on the same stability :-) The Tempest series is a great one to get into. I'm a Zephyr guy myself, but that just happened to be the boat I learned to paddle in so it stuck. Look into getting a sprayskirt for it as well for some ocean paddling. We've got a new series coming out this year in the month or so designed specifically for the Tempest cockpit. I'll post some info on the site about it. I haven't been out to sea yet, but am planning on it very soon. Still learning the "roll" maneuver.

I have been paddling a sit on top for about 5 years mostly for fishing but I love the sport itself so I bought a Tempest 170 from a member here and can't wait to take it out.
