I just picked up my second Tarpon 120 and have been trying to find a bag for the 8" midship hatch with no luck. Apparently, they don't make one. I really like the hatch bag on my 2008 Tarpon 120 and…Continue

KBF Open and Invitational

I had the pleasure of being a part of the first annual KBF Open and Invitational. Unfortunately, I was not able to get down to South Carolina in time to participate in the tournament. When I finally arrived I rolled up my sleeves and told Chad I would be happy to help with anything he needed. So being the nice guy Mr. Hoover is he asked me to help judge, take pictures and…See More

Always Have a Plan B

It's always good to have a back up plan when are planning a fishing trip. Mother nature has a bad habit of throwing a wrench in your plans. Mat and I planned on fishing a winter area this weekend but decide to scrap the trip when the weatherman told us the winds would be blowing up to 30 mph directly up river from where we would be fishing. Keeping stationary is very important when winter fishing because you need to be able to feel those extremely subtle bites. We decided to go with our Plan B…See More

It was Time to Chase the Big Girls!

The longer I'm off the water the grumpier I get.  This spring I've not been able to spend a lot of time chasing spawning largemouth bass due to work and other obligations. So I finally decided it was time to take a day off work and chase the big girls. They were calling for 15 mph-20 mph winds so I knew the conditions would be tough but I didn't care.

I…

Rigging My New Ride 115

I picked up a new Ride 115 from Appomattox River Company the other day and headed over to Yakattack's shop to do a little rigging. I was really looking forward to tossing ideas back and forth with Luther - when you get two gear heads together you never know what you will come up with. Being that I mostly fish rivers I didn't want to do a bunch of rigging just for the sake of rigging. The last thing I need is a bunch of…
