"Tommy, it's been a year since I sent the original request on the Gear box for the Orbix 8" Hatch, has Wilderness Systems come up with anything yet?"

"I went online and saw what you were referring to. At the risk of sounding mutinous could you take a Hobbie 8" hatch and swap it for the Orbix hatch??"

"I am going to have to figure something out here also. It is such an obviously good place to have a hatch liner of some kind for the same reasons you suggested. I am going to see if the gear tray from my Hobie fits and I will advise."

"OK I've come up with something that should work until WS can do a proper design ;-) First I went to Walmart to try to find an 8" diameter pail but no joy. Then I went to our local Do It Best Hardware store and in the paint section they had…"

"Right now the projects we discussed are still on the drawing board.  Hopefully they will come to life, but it won't be soon enough for what you want to do. Hit your local kayak shop and see what they have available for other brands."

Lure Holder for 8" Orbix

I think I've seen a round single level plastic lure holder that sits inside an 8" Orbix Hatch, but I can't seem to find where it could be purchased.  Am I crazy or is there something that is designed to fit on the lip of the Hatch that holds lures? Thanks, ChrisSee More

"I purchased the Tarpon 100 3 years ago and use it on smaller lakes and the Back Bay in Virginia Beach and love it.  I've had it in the Ocean as well, but would probably prefer a 120 or the Ride 115 or 135 if that was my main fishing…"

Kayak Bass Fishing by Chad Hoover

Asked for this book for X-Mas and have started to read it. Half way through and it's been enlightening so far. Can't wait to get back out in my Yak once the weather up north turns back to spring (skiing takes up my winter fun time). Working on making sure I'm fully prepared for early spring Bass fishing by doing my homework now.

Bass Fishing in Bay Back, Virginia Beach

Took my new Tarpon 100 out in the Back Bay for some Bass fishing since the eco system has recovered very nicely over the past couple of years. Caught 4 early in the AM and 1 late PM with an old Jitterbug top floating lure.

Planning on going again tomorrow to see what I can stir up before heading to the beach with the family.
