"The Pungo is a great kayak and I think it is more versatile than the Pamlico. You are right in the fact that the Pam will not track nearly as well as the Pungo. I don't think you made a mistake."

"This is going to depend a bit on how much weight you are carrying, but at 180 pounds or so I would estimate your 'draft' at 6-7 inches. Remember that since the Pungo has a keel line that runs the length of the kayak that that center line…"

First time here, about us we are amatuers in kayaking, previously we had a Perception 14' Carolina and a Prijon Calibria but sold them when we built our house 3 yr ago, now we are going to get back into a light kayaking. We bought 2 new 2010 Pungo 100's, big change from what we had but easier to store and on some of the crooked small rivers in lower wisconsin the 14.5' was tiring, we will trying the Crystal River by Wapaca and the Kickapoo by Ontario and should be no problem with these but we…See More
