"Is that your battery box behind there? Looks great. I was also thinking of getting the mount so I could take it off when I fish the river. 95% of my fishing is fly fishing so I am trying to make a snag free system. I really like the compactness.…"

"I purchased one and mounted it on the right side of my Tarpon 140. This arm folds up into the yak. If I were to hit an underwater obstacle like a rock, it would not be good for the my transducer. It should fold up to the rear of the yak so that if…"

"I use this on my Commander 120 with no issues.  The arm is a bit short, per some other discussion groups, so the transducer may pop out of the water from time to time.  I used a short piece of PVC pipe and extended mine about 12",…"

Battery Mounting Ideas

I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount a battery (for a fishfinder) on my Tarpon 140.  I have a 12V 10A battery - it's about 6" wide x 2.5" deep and 4.5" tall - weight at least 5+ pounds.  I'm thinking because of the weight I want to keep it in centerline of the boat.  I fish in the ocean - sometimes in pretty snotty conditions - so I really need it to be secure.  Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on battery mounting? Thanks in advance for any advice!KevSee More
