"Nice setup.  I bought the crate at Target, but in tan to match my Sand color Tarpon 120.  Do you have any dimensions for the cutout that you made on one side of the crate?"

DIY Scotty backing plates - fabrication & install video

After being inspired by Luther of Yakattack's recent video for the Fullback, I decided to fabricate some backing plates for the Scotty 344 mounts that I already had installed on my kayak. I use those mounts in conjunction with Scotty's Rocket Launchers. Although I haven't had any problems with the 344's, I've been a little worried that if I don't have my drag set correctly on the reel while trolling, there…See More

Easy to use video editing - GoPro HD + Sony Vegas HD Movie Studio 11

After reading this blog post over at SaltyShores.com, I decided it was time to throw down some cash and purchase a better video editing program. Until now, all of my videos have been pieced together using Windows Movie Maker (yikes!) or a comparable program that came free with my Kodak PlaySport. While they both "worked", countless crashes and limited control of...well...everything, made these programs about as functional as using a hammer…See More

"What are the sizes and model numbers of the Plano Storage Boxes shown above in your Ultimate DIY Kayak Crate. This version of a kayak storage crate is the best I've seen and I will make one for myself. "

DIY kayak Cart Instructions + VIDEO

I designed a new build-it-yourself/DIY kayak cart for my Ride 135 and thought I would share it here as well.  The previous PVC design that I have been using for years has never let me down, but I wanted to come up with something that was specifically built around the…
