Shelter Cove Ca 5-17-2013

First day in the salt for 2013 on my new Tarpon 160. Two days later it got nasty out there and the Tarpon handled like a dream. 8-10' swell, 3-4' wind waves, and 20mph sustained winds.

2013 Tarpon 160

"yes loading a large kayak can be a problem. I have a Tarpon 140 and it can be a royal pain loading onto the roof of my van. Another drawback to longer kayaks is thier manuvability in smaller streams. but I love my yak out on the lake in which I…"

2013 Tarpon 160

"I've used my older one in small ponds , swift rivers, ocean, and everything in between. I don't know why everyone always want a smaller kayak. I do have a Ride 135, but use my Tarpon 160i more."

"I just received mine not that long ago. Definitely adds a whole new level of comfort, but I also found that it helps me with standing from sitting in the higher position."
