i would like to welcome and congratulate the two newest members of the Wilderness Systems Pro Staff here in texas.
first of all, long time TKFer and one of the coolest dudes i ever fished and paddled with.....george "kingz" stevens is coming on board and we are all looking forward to his contribution to the pro staff. his reputation speaks for itself and his kayak fishing bio reads like a novel.

killer day out on the ultra shallow flats of redfish bay today. had an epic paddle out to my favorite camping spot and caught a few fish on the way. we paddled out to the camp and chilled for a while, had a snack, then enjoyed a perfect conditions for the ride home....
the Stoker Shrimp Tail is a new lure on the scene created by my buddy Henry Stokes for dealing with the snags associated with fishing in and around the seagrasses of the laguna madre bay…

did a presentation for the PACK club (paddling anglers in canoes and kayaks) in houston, tx this week. it is always a pleasure to visit with these guys. very active club with lots of members with so many stories we could sit around and talk for days.
i did a three part presentation on kayak fishing redfish bay here in texas, the devil's river in west texas, and a portion on the freshwater rivers of the everglades. had a great response from the crowd hopefully…

just when you thought the kids of today were spending too much time indoors you get a good story like this.
this marks the third year in reaching out to hundreds of fifth graders in aransas pass who are present and future stewards of the vast seagrass meadows of redfish bay. this year will also mark the first designation of a "seagrass stewardship school".
this year the fifth graders will be asked to draft a resolution that further promotes the importance of seagrasses…

I can't say enough good stuff about the guys and gals that came out and participated in the Lighthouse Lakes Paddling Trails beach cleanup this past weekend. We have a kayak fishing club that meets at my shop periodically and we coordinate the meetings with cleanup days and that has really helped with the effort of getting hands on the sand. The area that we clean is heavily fished by shore bound anglers as well as kayakers and there is always an abundance discarded trash.....it is sad that…
