Wilderness Systems dealer Matti Wade, who runs Ten Mile Creek Kayaks in Colorado, impressed Ford so much with his unique professionalism, that they made one of their new 2010 Ford Transit Connects especially for him - emblazoned with their logo proudly on the side. Matti uses it to help run his kayak shop because of its many unique storage and configuration options.
Wilderness Systems is proud of our top tier dealers like Ten Mile Creek, and proud to… Continue

Just purchased an 09 Tarpon 100 from Austin Kayak. Think I'm in love.
She christened the SS Salt Fly Girl :)
Since her arrival this past Wednesday we have logged a ton of hours together and I have to say, she's pretty close to perfect for flats fly fishing down in the Keys. Ride is good, paddling sweet spot easy to find, stowage for fly gear near genius and overall design really thoughtful. In short, she's rigged right and… Continue

Near the end of the school year we will get quite a few school groups that go out kayaking as a reward field trip. These guys went out with a marine biology student from the University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas. They went out with a seine net and caught numerous creatures that inhabit the shallow grass flats. They did core samples of the mud and observed shorebirds in their natural habitat.
It was great day with… Continue

Just wanted to stop by and thank everyone for a great resource. I recently bought my first kayak, a Tsunami 145 that was purchased with the thought of camping out of it. It didn’t take long on the first outing until I realized the potential of fishing from a kayak and since than have discovered I’m not the only one who sees it. I hope to purchase a Ride near the end of the year so that I can have a fishing rig as well.

After a few months of another “old time” winter in Wisconsin and not having fished open water for over three months I was getting a severe case of cabin fever. The first week of February I was in Naples, Fla., running a conference. A friend from Wisconsin, Steve Starr, who now calls Ft. Lauderdale home, said that if I had time while in Florida, to drive over to the Ft. Lauderdale area for some peacock bass fishing. He didn’t have to… Continue
