Three days on the Juniata River

Well, two days on the Juniata River for a benefit tournament, one day fishing for fun and some really nice smallies!

Big Yaker (Aaron) from over at kayakbassfishing.com and I hit the water for two days of fishing in a benefit tournament. The tournament was held in honor of a local fisherman/sportsman who passed away a number of years ago. All the proceeds are donated to non profits… Continue

Use a Rudder on Ride 135 in rivers???

I have a Ride 135 and do a lot of fishing on river and such but have found that turning the thing is like driving a barge down the water...would a rudder be any benefit in navigating rapids/currents and what sort of damage could/would the rudder undergo...Have learned to turn the boat without one but was wondering if the rudder would make life easier...thank you for your time and consideration.

New Commander

Folks, I have answered my own question...while surfing various kayak gear sites, I came across madfroggear.com...they offer dashboards, sideboards, etc similar to Harmony and they also offer thumb screws for attachment to Slide Trax...click on pricing and scroll down to parts...(I'd prefer to deal with Harmony, but they don't offer this option!)

New Commander

I brought home my new 120 last night and noticed there is no hex key to adjust Slide Trax...should one have been included?...also, I have seen somewhere online thumb screws to replace the hex screws...anyone know a source for them?

Thanks,

Ray

Best way to transport your yak?

I own a tarpon 140 and carry it upright on my Volvo S80. I've been told I should take off the kayak cradle and carry the yak upside down directly on the bars, any ideas?

Night Fishing Sandy River

Got together with some friends Saturday night for some night fishing on a local reservoir. We honestly weren't expecting the fishing to be great, just a sliver of moon and it was the wrong time of the cycle for night fishing, but hey, that's why it is called Fishing and not Catching.

My main goal was to get out on the water in the new KBF Camo Commander 140 and get it wet for the first time, see how it performed, and to finally get fishing again. If you guys remember my posts,…
