Under overcast skies with the wind blowing out of the southwest, 70 kayak fishing anglers competed in the first annual Indian River kayak fishing tournament with proceeds going to Coastal Charities. The Paddle Classis was a Catch-Photograph-Relase (CPR) event. The Brevard Zoo, Strike Zone Fishing, Grills Seafood and Tiki Bar, Hook 1 and DriGrip were some of the many sponsors who donated tournament prizes and items for the Captain's Bags. Prizes and trophies were awarded in the Redfish, Trout, Snook and Indian River Slam categories as well as a women's angler category. Tournament results and photos are forthcoming.

I agree Chris. It was a great first event. It will only get better. We need to get Wilderness Systems involved next year. Event photos and results will be posted to the following http://www.indianriverkayakfishing.com. You can see additional photos I took on www.drigrip.ning.com.

That was a great tournament. I was fortunate enough to catch some red's that day so I could get my name on the board.
