3rd Annual Forgotten Coast Kayak Fishing Classic Results

Third Annual Forgotten Coast Kayak Fishing Classic is in the books. 157anglers competed for kayaks, paddles, PFD’s, stake out poles, and pride. The proceeds went to the Meals on Wheels Program at Wakulla County Senior Services Center. We held the event at the Moose Lodge in Panacea Florida, and folks came from Californai, Texas, New York, Virginia, and even Minnesota to fish this years event. The wind was stiff at 15 to 20 mph out of the east and much better than the 50 mph gail force winds in 2009. The sponsors provided
some great prizes including 7 brand new kayaks, AT paddles, Capt Dick Stakeout poles, MTI PFD’s, Wang stakeout poles, and lots of other goodies. We awarded 1st place anglers the following kayaks:

1st Pace Trout WS Commander 120
1st Place Redfish Heritage Redfish 14
1st Place Flounder Native Manta Ray 12
1st Place Freshwater WS Ride 135
1st Place Ladies Hurricane Phoenix 120
1st Place Youth WS Tarpon 100

There were 1255.65 inches of fish caught. 751.8 inches of Redfish, 325.5 inches of trout, 97.55 inches of Flounder, and 80.8 inches of freshwater bass.
