Finally got around to "rigging" my new Commander 120. Rigging has become a breeze with the Slidetrax and I really believe that I will now be able to take more of a minimalist approach when I get out on the water using the Commander. I think using the Dashboard and Tool Caddy along with some basic lures in one small tupperware style container will make my days of dragging along a milk crate full of stuff something of the past. Although I will use the crate to transport everything in one trip to the waters edge. In the dinning room the kayak looks great rigged up, nice contrast with the rug and wood floors! Cant wait to get it out on the water for a test ride. But with three tournaments in four weeks, it might be tough to find the time, so the actual maiden voyage may have to wait.

Actually I have 4 kayaks in my dinning room...but I am also single now.

The dashboard and caddy are available from Wildy through Harmony, check the website, if I had the link I would post it for you. I have yet to paddle it, so the rod holder placement may be in the way. So I may have to re-think that once I get it on the water. If so, then I will just attach it to the dashboard.

I'm impressed both by the rigging and the fact that you have two kayaks in your house - my wife insists that mine remains in the garage...
Question: are the dashboard and tool caddy available from Wilderness or di you make them? Also - I went out yesterday and had my rod holder rigged in the same place you have yours it seemed to be in the way of my paddling - any tips?

Now you just need a great cooler (like the IceMule!) - sorry - couldn't resist the plug...

I love the Commander because it's simply a fantastic boat. I wouldn't suggest bringing it to Charleston for the IFA stop this weekend unleass you've already mapped out a SERIOUS WIND strategy. This past weekend it was blowing 20-25 mph which had the rivers and ICW whipped into a froth. The Wando had standing waves on the falling tide over 2 feet tall.

Very nice, can you come rig mine? I would not think twice about taking the Commander to a tournament for your first time out. I did this past Saturday and really liked the boat. A few quirks to be worked out but overall I was very impressed.
