DIY SlideTrax hardware and accessory plates

Although I have seen a couple of posts on DIY SlideTrax hardware, I decided to document a more complete build process that would show the start-to-finish steps including part numbers, pictures, etc.  Depending on how many accessory plates you want to build, this can save a lot of money and the method works great.  Besides, I just like to build stuff :)

If you don't want to fabricate your own SlideTrax nuts, you can pick up a four pack online at Hook1 and a few other places (I didn't see them on the Harmony online store, but I may have missed them). The rest of the DIY build components will work just fine with these plates.  Since I had the aluminum stock and cutting board left over from my rear transducer arm build, the cost to do this project was super cheap.  I plan to make a few more different accessory plates with all the stuff that I still have left over.

Here are a few preview shots and the full how-to write up is on my personal Palmetto Kayak Fishing Blog HERE.

Also knobs for quick ajustment, cables, tubes, rubber mats, loads of stuff that could be adapted for kayak use.

Just right for making side trax nuts, and much more!
