Launched my Tarpon 140 today.  Wind was up, water was choppy, but to me it was a perfect day to test out this kayak.  I had previously fished a Tarpon 160 for the last 8 years or so, but I wanted something slightly more stable for the unpredictable ocean conditions, and powerful pelagic game fish here in San Diego.

I was pleased to feel like I could relax with more initial stability.   One thing I did was just order the non-angler version of the T-140, this way, I could angle out my flsuh mounts to the side further. The way the molding is set, (straight back) for flush mounts, causes lines to tangle, especially, with two 4oz. mackerel out, that swim stronger than a 5lb Trout.   I also added two flush mounts up front for the ocean awkward drift, when you need to move a rod, so your line doesnt get tangled, worked out pretty good!

To the fish report, water temp was 64º, plenty of bait, didnt hook up..   This boat was noticeably easier to "surf" in to the shore too...

Fun afternoon... I post pics of the boat later.
