killer day out on the ultra shallow flats of redfish bay today. had an epic paddle out to my favorite camping spot and caught a few fish on the way. we paddled out to the camp and chilled for a while, had a snack, then enjoyed a perfect conditions for the ride home....
the Stoker Shrimp Tail is a new lure on the scene created by my buddy Henry Stokes for dealing with the snags associated with fishing in and around the seagrasses of the laguna madre bay system. big fish are moving up shallow and everybody loves a shrimp cocktail...redfish too.
the trick to the new lure is the way the hook rides inside of and against the body of the shrimp to remain snag free in the thickest grass. you can let it settle down in the grass then pick it up with a slight twitch of the rod. it makes for a very natural presentation of the bait and we have been getting a great reaction and positive hookups with the single hook.
next time we stay overnight and breathe some life into the old campsite....
